About the Founder

Krista Jurkovich is the founder and executive director of Paramount Adaptive Riding Center. With nine years of classroom experience, a Bachelor of Science in Education, and a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction (both from Kent State University), she became involved in therapeutic riding when one of her students invited her to visit him at his barn.

She was amazed at the change in this young man when he was around the horses he so deeply loved. Thus, she began volunteering — first as a sidewalker, then as a horse leader — before she finally decided that she wanted to become certified as an instructor.

When her son was born and she decided to stay home with him, she finally had the time to pursue her certification. A wonderful mentor instructor at Trinity Farm TEC in Streetsboro, Ohio, helped her through the certification process, and Jurkovich became certified in 2015.

Job changes for her husband took the Jurkovich family to Kansas in 2017, where she had the pleasure of volunteering at New Horizon Ranch TRC. In 2019, they were once again relocated to their forever home in Yulee, Florida. She was shocked to find there are no PATH centers within an hour radius of Yulee, so she set out to begin offering therapeutic riding lessons here, and Paramount Adaptive Riding Center was born.
